This course positions Indonesian literature as a signifying practice. Literature is not seen as a self-sufficient activity. Its development does not proceed merely within its own literary system. Its formation is closely connected with the structure of power relations, eliminating the distinction between serious and popular texts. Moreover, it does not merely reflect the entity of Indonesia but it also contributes to the creation of it. This course will give a critical overview of the constitutive texts of Indonesian literature, dealing with the question of under what circumstances Indonesian literature comes into existence. In addition, this course gives a critical evaluation of the representation of the world view of a particular social arrangement.

This course fulfills “wajib fakultas” or a course required by the school. Students from other departments may enroll.

Keluarga adalah fenomena manusiawi-sosiologis. Ia merupakan sel terkecil, elemen pembentuk masyarakat. Pada umumnya, setiap orang mengalami proses sosialisasi pertama-tama dalam keluarga. Pentingnya keluarga tercermin dari kompleksnya ritual perkawinan di setiap kultur. Dalam tradisi Kristiani, keluarga juga merupakan elemen penting dalam pembentukan komunitas Gereja. Di satu sisi, keluarga (dan tentu saja perkawinan) merupakan “medan perwujudan iman Kristiani“, tempat di mana pribadi-pribadi suami-istri, orangtua-anak, menghayati dan mewujudkan iman akan Kristus dalam relasi kasih manusiawi. Di sisi lain, iman Kristiani terdukung untuk tumbuh di lingkungan keluarga yang baik. Lantas seperti apakah “keluarga/perkawinan yang baik“ itu? Pertanyaan penuntun ini akan didiskusikan secara tematis. Ada tiga kelompok besar tema, yakni (I) Konteks, (II) Tradisi, dan (III) Praksis. Pada bagian pertama, konteks sosial-budaya perkawinan Kristiani di Indonesia diangkat sebagai titik berangkat (starting point). Pada bagian kedua, ditampilkan narasi mengenai perkawinan dan keluarga yang terdapat dalam Tradisi Kristiani, baik Kitab Suci maupun Magisterium. Selanjutnya, didiskusikan pengalaman-pengalaman konkrit di mana narasi perkawinan dan keluarga Kristiani berusaha diwujudkan oleh orang Kristen. Dengan proses ini, dibutuhkan kecermatan dalam membaca konteks sosial-budaya keluarga-keluarga Kristiani untuk dapat memetakan persoalan-persoalan moral-etis yang dihadapinya. Di samping itu, diperlukan pula pembacaan yang kritis terhadap argumentasi-argumentasi teologis yang terkait dengan persoalan perkawinan dan keluarga. Diharapkan, mahasiswa dapat membangun argumentasi teologis yang kontekstual.
